Our client is a long-established designer and manufacturer of leading retail display products. They are looking for a Sourcing / Supply Chain Manager to be responsible for maintaining a Supply Chain suitable for the company’s business requirements. This demands a small number of Preferred Suppliers with whom they manage strategic partnerships operating alongside a dynamic list of development / prospect suppliers. You will be responsible for auditing suppliers, developing them in line with the company’s quality, service and ethical requirements and ensuring competitive market rates are accessible in all processes and regions. You will also contribute to improved project margins, quicker speed to market and enhanced client experience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Develop and manage Supply Chain to ensure competitive market rates with excellent service and quality across all commodities is achieved.
• Establish board level relationships with key supply partners. Act as a point of escalation for arbitration and resolution of supplier disputes.
• Continually review the supply chain to identify areas for improvement. Work strategically to identify and assess potential new supply partners. Filter supply prospects with benchmarking, auditing and sampling exercises to maintain a steady stream of prospect suppliers.
• Apply long term strategies to manage and enhance supply partners. Measurement of continuous improvement must consider business profile, factory audit, Sustainable Procurement, quality systems, service levels, cost management and Health & Safety.
• Work with Estimating & Project Teams to identify and deliver opportunities for consolidation & margin improvement.
• Work with Estimating & Project Teams to deliver robust Supply Plans for project implementation.
• Ensure supply partners understand the company’s way of working, process, culture & expectations.
• Report on supply chain performance, and keep Supplier Dashboard up-to-date.
• Sourcing of components.
• Monitor and report on industry and Macro economic trends, follow regional and global trends in Sourcing to ensure the company is able to leverage and react to changing situations.
• Ensure that suppliers are aware of business objectives.
• When required, engage in negotiation of contracts and prices.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
• Ideally a business or engineering degree.
• Proven track record identifying, auditing and onboarding new suppliers.
• Hands on auditing experience; including experience specifying Corrective Actions in areas of quality management and health & safety.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong process, material and manufacturing knowledge of metal fabrication and joinery.
• Experience dealing with supply chains in Eastern Europe and Asia.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), very strong tact and diplomacy.
• Must be a self-starter, extremely driven and with ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
• Very strong commercial awareness.
• Desire and ability to create, communicate and implement short / medium / long terms strategies.
• Computer literate to a high standard.
